TALA relies on your support to continue providing free, quality legal and accounting services to artists, non-profits and arts organizations. Our twenty-ninth fiscal year began on July 1, 2007 and membership dues account for 10% of our total income. Your annual dues for 2008 will allow TALA to continue its mission to help the arts community throughout the state of Texas. Please renew your annual membership for 2008 today by printing and mailing a membership form.

How to Receive Services from TALA:  In order to receive services from TALA,  you must be either:

1.) a nonprofit organization (arts only) or

2.) an individual artist making less than $37,500

If you are either of these, to receive services you must

1.) become a member of TALA and

2.) fill out a Request for Assistance Form (Individual or Organization) or, if you are seeking non-profit incorporation*, click here

TALA is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 statewide organization providing legal and accounting services to the arts community of Texas since 1979. TALA is dedicated to serving and promoting the arts. Your membership dollars provide for TALA's small staff, office facilities, and insurance coverage necessary to coordinate and support TALA volunteers.

Membership benefits include:

  • Subscription to the Art Law and Accounting Reporter
  • Information on arts-related seminars with CPE, CLE credits
  • Invitation to the annual Gala, film club, mixers, and other social events
  • Free use of the extensive TALA law library
  • Opportunity to meet other area artists, attorneys, and accountants

  • Professional  $75  Patrons  $500 
  • Corporate/Firm  Staff 1-10 $150; Staff 11-50 $250; Staff over 50 $500
  • Full-time Student  $30
  • Individual Artist  $50
  • Band  $100
  • Arts-Related NonProfit Organization $200

*Membership is included in the nonprofit creation fee.
