These sessions are designed to provide information to those interested in forming a tax exempt, nonprofit corporation, covering the basic function and structure of exempt organizations, bookkeeping and tax issues related to exempt organizations, and other pertinent information. There will also be time for questions and answers during the session. Session will be presented by Erin Rodgers, TALA Staff Attorney. This program is free and open to the public. “Individual Income Tax Seminar for Artists” presented by Michele Stanton, hosted at Rice Media Center, Saturday, February 18, 2012
Structured with artists in mind, this seminar will literally walk you through a tax return, addressing common concerns artists may have about hobby loss, and other IRS regulations pertaining to creative practice, helping you prepare your own tax return. Michele Stanton, CPA, is a long-time TALA volunteer and now a TALA Board Member who specializes in the needs of individual artists. This seminar is free and open to TALA members and non-members, however advanced registration is required. Please RSVP to [email protected] before Thursday, February 16.
This seminar will be hosted at Rice Media Center on the campus of Rice University. Parking will be available in the West Lot 5 Lot across the street from the Media Center, between the Campus Police Offices and Rice Stadium. A credit card is required to enter the parking lot.
